Connecting items
Connectors are arrows between items — for showing flow, grouping ideas, or noting "this led to that." There are two ways to make one.
Drag-to-connect
- Hover an item (or select it). A small connect handle (a ⊕) appears on its edge.
- Drag from that handle onto another item.
- Release — an arrow is drawn between the two.
This is the fastest way when you're working with a mouse or trackpad.
Connect via selection
- Select exactly two items.
- Click CONNECT in the toolbar.
This is handy when items are far apart, and it's the keyboard-friendly path.
Editing connectors
- Select a connector to adjust it.
- Move its endpoints, or reposition the whole line.
- Change its color.
- Control whether it sits in front of or behind items — see Free-draw & layers.
Connectors follow their items
An arrow anchored between two items stays attached as you move them around. Free-drawn lines (see the next page) are independent of any item.
