Troubleshooting

The extension won't connect

The extension needs the Morgue app running to receive captures.

  1. Open the Morgue app, then reopen the extension — this fixes it most of the time.
  2. Restart the app and try again.
  3. Check the capture bridge status under Settings → Extension; restart the app if it isn't running.
  4. Restart your browser if it still won't connect.

Captures aren't appearing

  1. Confirm the extension shows as connected.
  2. Make sure you completed the capture (chose a capture mode).
  3. Check your All Assets view — captures land there; an active folder/tag/search filter may be hiding them. Clear filters or search.

Activation problems

  • "Inactive" key: normal before activation — click Activate.
  • Device limit reached: Morgue shows your max; free a seat by deactivating an old machine, or manage devices in your account dashboard.
  • Locked after going offline: reconnect to the internet so Morgue can re-validate — see Working offline.

Updates won't install

  • Run Morgue from Applications, not from inside a mounted .dmg.
  • Check your connection and relaunch.
  • Fallback: reinstall the latest .dmg from morgueapp.com — your library is untouched.
